Everleane is 83 years old and was born in Minter, Alabama. She moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1943 and to Cleveland in 1961.

“We moved to get out of the country and the conditions. I remember going to a little town called Selma, Alabama. To go to the bathroom I can remember a sign saying ‘colored’. And the water fountain, they had a sign saying ‘colored’.”
