Marie Thérèse and Fernande, pilgrims from Le Puy, France, were doing the Camino in stages. Most pilgrims walk from St. Jean Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela (500 miles) in one go, but some prefer to break it into smaller sections and complete it over a period of months or years.
